Wow another year has passed and I’m glad to say it has been a good one. Right about now you’re all getting ready to glam up, rock out and bring in the new year but first, let me just say a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you. Thank YOU for stopping by to read and like my posts, give me YOUR opinions and honest feedback and for requesting what YOU would like to see more of. None of this would be possible without YOU and even though there have been some haters, Mmm mmm, I hope to create and share more wonderful things with you for many, many years to come.
To end of this year with a *BANG*, I’d like to share my favourite products of 2015 with you. Now although some of these are recently discovered, all products mentioned are the ones I would not leave behind if I was deserted on an island. Yep that’s how much I love them. As I was picking them out they were practically no-brainers because I use them all the time and some I have even repurchased already. So on to it then.
Nivea Men Post Shave Balm
One of my recent discoveries but definitely a keeper and goes down as the best primer I’ve ever used. It’s thin, but not watery, so it absorbs into the skin really fast. It doesn’t fill pores but if I need to I just use a pore-filler around my nose area. It doesn’t contain any alcohol so it’s great for sensitive skin. It contains glycerine so once the makeup is applied, it basically sticks to your face without any smudging, budging or fading. You can check out my Instagram posts on longevity here. Definitely a must for every makeup lover especially for those sweltering days.
LA Girl HD Pro BB Cream & Concealer
The dynamite duo in my opinion for a flawless finish. I featured the BB Cream in my August favourites here and the concealer in Fawn, part of my top concealer picks here, is a go to everyday fave to cover dark circles and zits without any ashiness. The BB cream can be sheer coverage when buffed with a flat-topped brush or full coverage when applied with a damp beauty blender. The consistency is thicker than other BB creams so it fills pores and almost blurs the imperfections.
Catrice Lumination Luminizing Bronzer
Another recent launch by Catrice, I was sad that I missed out on the highlighter in the range. I’m not usually one for bronzers since I am already tanned but this bronzer has specks of gold shimmer that illuminate the face without looking glittery. I usually apply this with my huge Real Techniques powder brush over the entire perimeter of my face for a subtle, all-over glow.
MAC Lipstick in Cosmo (Amplified)
This is the perfect pinky nude for my skin tone. It’s the my-lips-but-better colour and has a smooth, creamy finish with just a touch of gloss. Especially great because it doesn’t show dry lips but I have to reapply after eating or drinking.
Christina Aguilera Perfume
I absolutely love this scent. It is sweet with a hint of citrus and a whiff of floral Jasmine. It has a vanilla undertone as well and as many ways there are to describe it, it has just been my favourite scent this year and is amazingly beautiful.
Benefit Roller Lash & L’Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara
The Benefit Roller Lash mascara has been my HG mascara from the day I started using it. I did a full review here and it was also part of my August favourites. It lengthens, volumises and curls like no other and since I’ve emptied it the L’Oreal False Lash Telescopic comes in at a close second.
Essence 2-in-1 eyeliner pen
I’ve always struggled with eyeliner pens. Although they make the job a lot quicker and easier, the tip always goes wonky and fatter or it dries out after a week of use. Not with the Essence ones though. I own all the Essence eyeliner pens, waterproof, long-lasting, superfine, 2-in-1 and no matter how long I do not use it, after a couple of shakes, it’s as good as new. The tip always stays straight and pointy creating the perfect wing every time. I love the 2-in-1 because it has a fine point on one side and a thicker side on the other for the days I want to create a bold, dramatic wing with no fuss.
Cala Blending Brush
Probably the cheapest makeup brush I own but certainly the most impressive. I use this every day for my transition and crease shades and it applies just the right amount of product whilst being sparse enough to soften all harsh edges to make my eyeshadow look flawless. I own a second one I use solely to contour my nose and it looks so natural it’s astonishing. I’m not a fan of all the Cala makeup brushes but they are all super soft and this one is a must-have.
Surprisingly no eyeshadow palettes made it to the favourites list because while I do have ones I tend to reach towards like my Lorac Pro and Carli Bybel palette, I’m always switching things up and can’t wait to see what new and exciting things 2016 brings.
Again a huge thank you for all your love and support this year. There’s been many ups and downs but I believe whatever we go through just makes us stronger. For all of you on the roads tonight, be safe, have a great one, and will chat to you next year. See you in 2016!
What’s your favourites of 2015 been?
LOTS OF LOVE
