Happy Friday bellas,
There’s no better time to wind down after a hectic week than a Friday night. Since I have two kids, and already hit the ripe old age of 30, there’s no such thing as late nights, parties and staying out til the sun comes up. I’m sure that’s exactly where most of you gorgeous bellas are right now. When the weekend hits for me though, pamper time starts.
Over the last couple of months, I’ve incorporated the use of sheet masks to be a frequent feature. Sometimes if I’m lazy and rather want to spend time doing other things, I look at what my skin needs the most and opt for just one mask. Other times though, I take full advantage and layer them. Wait, what? Yep, I layer them. I know most people say to only use a sheet mask twice a week but if they’re fulfilling different purposes then why not. I usually have at least 10 or more masks laying in my draw at a time so I thought why not try it out.
At first I was scared because I thought perhaps it would be too overwhelming for my skin. I thought it would clog my pores and result in breakouts. All in the name of science and beauty right? The results were fantastic. I managed to get the full benefits of the masks and I found that the effects lasted much longer. For instance, if I used a brightening sheet mask, I would use an acne mask 3 days later and a pore control or hydrating mask the next weekend. By the time I was ready to use the next mask, the effect of the first mask would have already started fading. By layering two or three masks at a time, the results last up to two weeks before I need to target those problems again.
Now you can use any type of sheet mask you want as long as they target different skin concerns. For instance, our skin can only absorb a certain amount of moisture at a time. So using multiple hydrating masks all at once will only lead to clogged pores and a waste of money. Using different masks gains the most benefit with the best results. I’ve used, mixed, matched and experimented with a number of different brands of sheet masks. The ones I’ve found to be the most effective and have the longest lasting results are the Cettua Facial Masks.
So who is Cettua? They are a hypoallergenic Korean skincare brand. The products contain pure plant extracts, are suitable for all skin types and are dermatologically tested. It is paraben free, fragrance free and NOT tested on animals. They have been available in Clicks for the last few years so if you haven’t tried them yet, you better get on to it. Here are the ones I recommend.
Cettua Brightening Facial Mask
I always start off with this one. It contains 5 white flower complex (I’m assuming that means extracts from white flowers) to help nourish and brighten the skin. Grapefruit helps reduce dark spots to even out skin tone. Jojoba Oil and Rose rejuvenate the skin for a glowing luminous complexion.
Cettua Oil Control Facial Mask
Specially formulated for spot and blemish prone skin. Leaves skin clean, fresh and soft. 5 herbal complex helps soothe irritated and inflamed skin. Tea tree helps clean the skin’s pores and assists in preventing future breakouts.
Cettua Anti-Ageing Facial Mask
I use this one every two to three weeks. The 4 Marine Complex reduces the visible signs of ageing. Adenosine helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improves the elasticity of the skin. Leaves the skin looking younger and more revitalized.
Cettua Pore Control Facial Mask
My pores need all the help they can get. 5 Tea complex tightens pores against sagging skin and helps control sebum secretion. Papaya Enzyme restores oily skin and leaves the skin clear and fresh. I see results immediately and use it every week as the last step in my mask routine.
I leave each mask on for 20 minutes since the recommended time is between 10-20 minutes. When I remove each mask, I rub the wet sheet in circular motions to absorb the remaining product over my face before moving on to the next one. Once I am done with my face masks, I add a thin layer of moisturiser before going to bed.
As I mentioned the results are immediate and they last a really long time doing it this way. The Cettua sheet masks are very affordable and easy to get your hands on. They retail for R36 and are available from all Clicks stores. Cettua also have sheet masks for anti-redness and hydration but I rarely use them since those are not problems I suffer with regularly. They also have spot treatments for breakouts and under eye patches for brightening. All their products have been great but their masks are outstanding.
Clicks is currently having their 3 for 2 special at the moment and the Cettua range is part of the promotion. So pick up any 3 Cettua products before the 9th of October and you get the cheapest one free. Trust me you won’t regret it. Have an awesome weekend!
