There’s no such thing as happy Mondays so hiya bellas. Hope you had an awesome weekend (as short as it was). Don’t you wish we had 3 day weekends instead of 2. I might be able to keep my sanity then.
I previously did a post here on the Lip Monthly subscription box I joined in October. When signing up I got my first bag for just $5 which I thought was well worth the price to try 4-5 full sized products, some of which are not available in SA. However, after receiving the latest bag, I don’t find it worth it and cancelled for the following reasons:
- The November bag shipped mid-month but I only received it in early Jan. I know there was public holidays and such but waiting a month and seeing what other people got in their bags doesn’t make it as surprising or exciting as I initially felt.
- The products are not the same for everyone. Some people received an extra product in their bags and others received an eyeshadow. The inclusion of the eye serum was also puzzling because I subscribed to a ‘LIP’ bag and the most expensive item is an eye product. Of course I would have preferred a high end lippie instead.
- You only get the initial bag for $5, thereafter its $13 + $4 shipping. So paying $16.94 (R250) to repetitively try out Hikari and Manna K products isn’t fun. The products are valued at a lot of money but that’s because it’s brands trying to make it in the beauty world.
I’m not going to do in depth reviews on the products because to be honest I don’t really like any of them. I won’t even bother putting it up on my blog sale, I’ll just give it away.
Luna LipGloss – $22
OFRA Lip Liner – $13
Hikari Lip Crayon – $13
Freeze 24/7 Eye Serum – $53 (for a sample size)
In a weird sort of way I’m actually glad they stopped shipping to all countries once I did my post because you didn’t waste a cent on their silly, little subscription bag. I still keep an eye out on the bags that I missed because it makes me feel better knowing it’s items I never would have used.
But as you know, I’m a makeup junkie and a horrible hoarder so as soon as I cancelled my subscription, I went in search of a new one. I eventually decided to sign up and try out the Morphe LiveGlam subscription box where you receive 3-7 brushes every month for just $20. If you sign up using this link, you also get an extra free brush in your first box. So far the December and January boxes are in transit and my Feb box should be shipping out soon. If you’re interested to find out my thoughts, don’t forget to subscribe via email and you’ll be notified when new blog posts are published.
Also, I just partook in my first ever loop giveaway on Instagram where the winner will receive the following amazing products. Head over to my IG page @belleblushh to enter because it ends soon. FYI It’s open WORLDWIDE!
