Bobbi Brown – Scotch on the Rocks Highlight Powder

Bobbi Brown – Scotch on the Rocks Highlight Powder

Patches of pink and silver laid out in a tiled-mosaic pattern. This is the beauty of the Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder in Pink Glow. Launched as part of the Scotch on the Rocks Holiday 2014 Collection, iconic actress Lauren Bacall was the inspiration behind the collection.

Housed in a gorgeous wood-inspired compact with gold and white accent, the plastic packaging of the Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder felt far from luxurious when I held it. The packaging is hollow so the compact is fairly light and has a clip at the front for the lid to pop open. Inside is a full sized mirror along with the real gem. The buttery Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder has finely-milled shimmer particles that leave an almost metallic finish on the skin. The pink is almost colourless on the skin so what’s left behind is a warm, subtle glow that can be built up and easily blended. Formulated with light reflective pearls and pigments, it creates a silver sheen that look amazing on the brow brone, cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow without looking too clownish. The feel and finish reminds me a lot of my Cindy Lou-Manizer from The Balm, just a bit more subtle.

I’ve used the Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder as an eyeshadow as well, over my entire lid without any primer, and the gorgeous peachy-pink colour lasted all day. No creasing, no wrinkling and no fading even when worn on my cheeks. The colour is subtle enough to be worn everyday yet glamorous enough for an evening out. The only thing I am concerned about is that it won’t look as gorgeous once the overspray is all gone (Fussy much?) 🙂

The Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder also came in Bronze Glow, a gorgeous one-colour, almost copper-toned shade but it was unfortunately sold out just 2 days after being released. I actually managed to get the last Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder Pink Glow from Edgars Sandton for R690 ($57) and definitely think it was worth the investment.

Have you tried any Bobbi Brown products? What’s your favourite highlighter?

LOTS OF LOVE
