If there was ever a palette I would regret not owning, it would be this one. If you read my favourite YouTube vloggers post, you’ll know Carli Bybel tops that list hands down. There’s just something about how sweet and adorable she is that makes you fall in love with her and boy can she beat a face. When she announced the Carli Bybel palette in one of her videos, I knew I had to have it even before I saw it. And when I did see it, WHOA!!! It was absolutely stunning. You should have seen me, standing up from my chair in my kitchen, doing a little happy jig.
Anyhoos, now that you know why I shouldn’t be allowed in public, let me show you just how gorgeous it is.
One of the first white palettes ever released, the diamond tufted cushion printed on the front echoes elegance and sophistication. One might think that owning a white palette can be very daunting as it might get dirty or stain, but the glossy finish allows any fallout to be blown or swept off easily. Everything about the palette is so Carli. From the cute, little pink penguin on the outer side of the palette, to the intricate details and short but sweet motivation “Aspire to Inspire” printed just beneath the large mirror. Before I received the palette, someone mentioned to me that it was smaller than expected, but it’s about the size of a DVD cover, way larger than my hand. It does seem to contain a small amount of product but for the INSANE price of $12.50, that’s really great value for money.
The Carli Bybel palette contains 10 eyeshadows and 4 highlighters but the main thing you’ll notice is a lot, and I mean A LOT, of shimmer. There are 5 matte eyeshadows, 4 in the top row and 1 in the second, but the rest of the eyeshadows and highlighters are all shimmery. In most of her tutorials, Carli never goes without highlighting the bridge of her nose to make it appear slimmer. I’m a fan of anything shimmer and I think Carli did an amazing job with her collaboration of BH Cosmetics because the palette is so versatile and suited for a range of skin tones. The overall feel of the eyeshadows are very FALL-like, with plum and mauve, and of course very natural shades like browns, coppers and cream. I’ve created everything from a no-makeup look intensifying it to a night-time dramatic look, but you’ll have add from another palette to go for a deep, dark smokey eye, which I don’t mind at all. The eyeshadows are all pigmented, soft and easy to blend, but the matte shades have more fallout which I don’t like. There are also no names for each shade because it would have been cute to see what Carli came up with.
The 4 highlighters are my favourites. Whether I want to light it up or go for the J-LO glow, these highlighters are super pigmented and a little goes a really long way. I prefer applying it with a small, fluffy brush, preferably a fan brush for controlled application.
The eyeshadows and highlighters are quite long wearing but I still suggest wearing an eyeshadow primer beneath it to enhance the colours and setting spray to make it last even longer. All the shades are interchangeable and the copper highlighter looks amazing on the entire lid.
When the Carli Bybel palette got released it sold out within a couple of hours. I was on the website and managed to add one to my cart and while I was browsing it got sold out and deleted. I’m happy to announce the second batch just got released about an hour ago. BH Cosmetics ships worldwide so if you intend of getting this palette, GO NOW! It’s still at the amazing price of only $12.50. It’s cruelty-free, vegan, paraben free, non-irritating, allergy and clinically tested.
I purchased my Carli Bybel palette from Makeup_Schmakeup for R650, but after taking into consideration the shipping and customs duties, I still think it was worth it. Definitely one of the MUST HAVE palettes of 2015.
What do you think of the Carli Bybel palette? Have you tried any other BH Cosmetics products before?
LOTS OF LOVE
